 Walker Category Participation & Awards
The Walker Category is for participants who will be competing as a Walker and walk the entire 10K.  Although this will not be a judged race walk, competing in the Walking Category requires one foot to be in contact with the ground at all times (i.e. "no lifting".)  There will be monitors on the course and running or jogging will be the basis for disqualification.  Walkers will start approximately five minutes after the open field.

If you would like to walk some of the Shark's Tooth 10K and still jog or run some, please register for the "Open Division" Shark's Tooth 10K and feel free to run, jog or walk. DO NOT register as a Walker respecting those who will compete by fitness walking, power walking, speed walking, race walking, etc.

If you intend to run, jog, and/or walk but would like to accompany someone competing as a Walker, register in the open division and you can delay your start to accompany the Walking Participant.

Walking Category Participants must start with the Walkers, approximately five minutes after the open start; starting early is another basis for disqualification.   If you register as a Walker and decide you would like to run or jog, or you register in the open division and decide you would like to compete as a Walker, please contact us to change your registration category. If you have questions about the Walker Category, please feel free to contact the race director at or 941.312.4955
